THE START OF LOGAN'S RUN

Well I do not suppose many people are familiar with Logan's Run and I am rather surprised it had not had a remake over the years.

The film Logan's Run starred Michael York and the female figure in The Avengers movie of Marvel Heroes shrouded in darkness, Jenny Agutter.

It was set in what seemed like a Utopian future setting where a city existed under a dome. Nobody venture outside the done and in fact it was not allowed on sentence of death. Not that Utopian then. To deal with over population there was a ceremony held every so often, likely a year then, and everyone who turned 30 years of age would take part, float up into the air and then explode or vaporise. To prevent cheating death a crystal was embedded into the hands that would change color when you got close to 'your time'.

This film was the first thing I thought of when several front pages of the newspapers ran a story about the NHS going to refuse drugs to people that are too old?!

If this occurs and just like the pension age is being raised the 'too old' figure will be constantly lowered and likely never the twain shall meet?!
