THE DOUBLE OOPS

This one was a ... surprise.

Now just to go over a little health history, and only one part of four or five different parts, I have a hiatus hernia and have had this, at least the symptoms, for over twenty years.

I suffer very severe heartburn and in recent years sudden vomiting without warning which was diagnosed via my second endoscopy as Oesophagitis.

Now over the 6 different General Practitioners I have been under, not counting another ten I got passed of to, just one asked me something that no other did. 'Why have you been taking your PPI drugs (Proton Pump Inhibitor) for twelve years?'

She explained that I should only have taken them until the scaring in my oesophagus had healed. I explained that if I did stop taking them my life would get even more unbearable than it currently was and that I would suffer very bad heartburn regularly within 48 hours of creating said drug.

Now and according to a BBC report linked below they are now stating that using them, my Proton Pump Inhibitor or PPI, for too long caused kidney damage?! Just bloody great.

Dr Huq said that I should not have taken them for that long and I said I had asked for the operation for twenty years and kept being told, no.

That conversation was around 5 years so and I've been prescribed these PPI's ever since. So around 17 years then.

It becomes fecking ridiculous when the 'nos' you have been told for years turn into being the culprit for something far more serious than saving a few hundred quid.

If Lansoprazole turns out to be one of the more guilty of the PPI's I think I better putting some garnish to one side for one of my hats?

Lol!

THE MISSING MOTIVATION

I am just lacking in energy and drive of late.

I have hardly been out of the house the last two days and I am struggling to find something to motivate me today, really, really most unlike me.

The weather is crap and looks to stay that way a number of days, marvellous.

Plus there was some bizarre name dropping recently and some information reached my ears that not only did no one tell me but involves someone I recently mentioned.

God, I hate it when the men I know allow the egos to rule them.

There has also been a death in the family though I found out several days late, as one member of the family has failed to delete a five year old mobile phone number from her phone despite being asked to do this a dozen times.

Also my sister is expecting her first ever baby, and I wish her luck with that. However she is finding and will continue to find over the next ten months that we now live in a country lacking compassion, despite the number of help, advice and support organisations there claims to be out there.

This will hit her hard as she has worked her backside of for twenty years or more often at the expense of many things friends and family related.

She is already living with ... well 'in laws' despite them both working because the house prices and rent prices went way beyond ridiculous over a decade ago.

Stupid, stupid prices that are not realistic in any way only made worse by the constant influx of you know who combined with the lack of building both cheap homes and social housing. Then you factor in to all this the growing number of Londoners, though there aren't many left.

Good God I really lack energy, I really do.

There are things I need to get and have done a couple of days and trying to use these menial chores to get my arse out of my door.

None helped by the fact I am stuck in a rut I never saw myself being in at this moment in time.

And I STILL need to replace my damn camera! LMAO!

Oh and a prescription pill has disappeared into a gap, as it did about two weeks back, in my throat and I only know as something is seeping out and burning like hell as it does so!

I cannot have this happening any longer and will discuss this with a dozen other things at my next GP appointment.Good God it burns ...

One of the following ...

  • Gabapentin (which I oddly have wanted replacing years ago) - Fibromyalgia
  • Tramadol (which needs either upping or replacing with something better) - Back Pain
  • Ramipril (This not been checked for an age now ..) - Stage 2 Hypertension
  • Oh its 173 Systolic and 108 Diastolic, Blood Pressure, so yeah not dealth with
  • Atrovastatin - Blood Pressure and High Cholesterol
  • Lansoprazole ( I have wanted Nexium for 4 years or so) Oesophagitis, Hiatus Hernia
  • Metoclopramide - Bad nausea, Postural Hypotension, travelling on Bus in Cars or just in thoue HOUSE
  • Quinine Sulphate - Night Cramps, really bad night cramps, I cannot speak a single word
  • Amitriptyline - Fibromyalgia
  • As the first three are contained in capsules I will assume that it was one of those three getting stuck?! Need LIDOCAINE!!

THE WHOOZY SYNDROME

I feel very ... strange today.

The pills I have been given along with the ones I was already taking seem to have had a very bizarre effect on me which seems to have become stronger each of the three days I have taken them.

I feel tired and slow and that is an understatement, let me tell you. I ... I'm having difficulties thinking straight and carrying on with this post. I just want to lie down all the time and yesterday I was messaged in the late afternoon to be invited to a barbecue and I was out of it on the sofa. When I did read it I did manage to get there.

It is very weird and I hope it goes, I will not be able to function like this at all!

Oh my word! I am going to have to lie down even though it 5.17pm and I have been lying down upstairs for God know how long?!

The drugs are 300mg Gabapentin, 25mg Amitriptyline, 50mg Sertraline, 200mg Tramadol and 30mg Lansoprazole.

WHAT'S UP DOC??

Well I had more odd ball appointment today.

After getting messed around somewhat and a receptionist phoning me yesterday to make an appointment I had already made and other appointments mysteriously disappearing and being lambhasted for just saying hello I went in today forearmed.

This was a very long appointment as it turned out. He disagreed with me on a number of apsects of the NHS I knew only too well I was right about. So I told him so. To his surprise. I then told hiim of my rapport with Doctor Huq and that despite me bing her best patient she close her practise because of me.

I then told him about the official complaint and the withdrawing of the two reports.

He remarked what a blog does not do much...that was until I told hi of what was held within its pages and its archives. As previous I only remarked about hospitals and the lying Doctors but that I had a fair enough amount running into tens of gigabytes.

Before the appointment I jad indeed wondered to what I would say if I was ever asked the question that should naturally be asked in these situations.....have you recorded me?!

I did not have to come up with an answer as I was not asked.

The conversation was interesting and I did offer my blog to him bit not for the reasons you might think!

The appointment was OK. There were no arguments despite what I stated above. In fact there is a moment when he says things that will raise eyebrows...

1) You are obvioulsy familiar with these things so I will no explain it to you

2) No my knowldge is limited and you have actually been teaching me

I told the story of the ear condition. He looked inside and said what all have before and I did not expect any different. I therefore asked what i could be that affects my hearing. He stated that it may be a congestion issue as the Eustachian Tube conncts to the throat, or sinuses or all connected basically.

Now this made me raise an eyebrow! I do indeed have isues with sinuses and in fact I have explained this in that at night in bed I can get blocked up and during the day my nose is clear but can be running.

For those paying close attention I found this out to be connected to my Fibromyalgia and of course they are connected to the eyes in one way or another so yet again all roads do very much indeed lead right the way back to ROME!!

He suggested that I hold my nose and blow, to equalise the pressure and I just smiled and shook my head so instead he has given me some decongestion tablets and we will see how that goes.

But as I have discovered before and as anyone else that has used drugs like Gabapentin or Pregabalin, unile what my last idiot GP stated these are NOT just PAINKILLERS and would not work on all pains and only specific types. Or the neurological pains that he inststed I did not have, despite having at least TWO neurological conditions over ten years that I was given succesful and VERY specific drugs for.

Be gear to get that all down on tape as proving all that, eh?

Well I will now ask two questions and I will indeed give you just one chance with each one...

1) Guess what a large part of that 40 minute appointment was spent talking about?

2) Now guess WHAT I was doing at said appointment?!

The genius is often with the forethought and the preparation. But as will be revealed in to upcoming parts...

...it is just a wee bit more than that!!

Unfortunately for every public office I have ever found to be extremely bad, lying or corrupt!

Ooohhh it smarts, does it not?!?!

I DO like this GP and I do hope it stays this way. He does not or at least has not yet disregarded me as if I am an idiot and indeed in just two meetings and one phonecall has extended as much professional courtesy as he could possibly afford to someone NOT qualified as a Doctor!

That always goes a long way in my book.

Within this post is one iron clad statement that proves that my GP is a good GP. I will leave it for readers to work out what it is but even with the GP I got on with there are no Doctors that I have met in the last 15 years or more that I would  EVER expect to say those four simple words!
