I can confirm that you may search for solicitors in your area who may assist you by accessing the “Find a Solicitor” service through the Law Society website onwww.lawsociety.org.uk/find-a-solicitor. Alternatively you may wish to contact the Law Society on 0207 320 5650 so that they may search for you.
- a 2nd area of law
- an accreditation scheme - this will allow you to search for firms with solicitors who are accreditation scheme members (this means that a solicitor has demonstrated special competence in a particular area of law).
- a language - this will allow you to search for firms with solicitors that are able to speak the language that you require.
- wheelchair access - this will allow you to search for firms with wheelchair access.
- training contracts - this will allow you to search for firms that have authorisation to take on trainee solicitors.
Information is also available in the following publications: The Solicitors Regulation Authority's National Directory, Chambers and Partners Guide to the Legal Profession and the Legal 500 published by Legalease. Copies are normally held in the reference sections of local libraries and by some Citizens Advice Bureau.
